A suspect accused of fatally stabbing a man at a Miramar gas station earlier this week was arrested on Saturday, police said.

Jerry Saint Vil, 26, will be charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident that happened Wednesday night at the Mobil gas station in the 16000 block of Miramar Parkway, Miramar Police officials said.

Police said an altercation between the two men escalated, leading to the stabbing.
The victim, identified as Teofilo Vargas, was airlifted to a trauma center and later died, police said.

Days after the stabbing, police said they found Saint Vil during a search of the 2100 block of Acapulco Drive.
Broward County Sheriff’s Office records show Vil was arrested for burglary and trespassing back in May.
Investigators have not said what led up to the altercation. No gas station employees were involved.
