Dora Belen Rivera was sitting in an SUV with her father and her two siblings on Saturday when 18-year-old Ralph N-Kosi Blue, who was arriving to work at the fast food joint, shot at someone who was running towards him, police said.
Rivera was shot in the head. Her father, Oscar Roman Miron, took a gunshot wound to the hip and has since been released from the hospital.
Investigators said the family was waiting inside the SUV while their mother was inside the restaurant. The other two children, a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old, were not hurt. They were not the intended targets.
Rivera is still in the hospital, where doctors said they’re leaving the bullet in her head because if they remove it, they could harm her even more.
