It was 1:55 a.m. when Miami Fire Rescue responded to reports of multiple vessels on fire at Austral Marina at 2190 Northwest North River Drive.
There, crews found two docked boats, each more than 30 feet in length, “fully engulfed in flames and threatening nearby vessels.”
Authorities dispatched more units to attack the flames, deploying multiple hose lines and using foam to suppress the fire from land and sea.

Within one hour, crews brought the fire under control, fire rescue said.
The boats were searched and confirmed to be unoccupied.
“A total of four vessels sustained damage because of the incident, including two with severe fire damage and two with heat-related damage” measuring 30 and 60 feet, officials said.
The owners of the boats were notified and are working with officials.
The Miami Fire Investigation Unit is working to determine the origin and cause of the fire, authorities said. The U.S. Coast Guard has also been contacted to assess any potential environmental impact from fuel or other hazardous materials that may have entered the water.
