Last week just before 4 a.m., Sierra Wynn’s security camera alerted her of an animal in the front yard. Instead of it being a stray dog or cat, it was an 8-foot six-inch gator saying hello.

According to Wynn, it’s tail was ‘bouncing’ against the door and the reptile was hissing. Her and her family stood inside their house with fear as they called authorities for help.

Palm Bay Police responded to the call and made their way to the house. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission also joined. The FWC was able to successfully trap the reptile.

Wynn said she is grateful that they had outdoor cameras to alert them of the alligator’s presence.
