Jamal Kamari Law, 21, was arrested on charges including attempted fleeing and eluding an officer at high speed, driving with a suspended license and having a tag that wasn’t assigned to his vehicle, records showed.
The incident happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday when the trooper spotted a black Ford Mustang going over 100 mph next to another vehicle in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike near Bird Road, an arrest report said.
The trooper got behind the Mustang as the driver, Law, turned off the headlights and “began taking evasive action,” the report said.

When the trooper tried to stop the Mustang, Law accelerated to over 140 mph while fleeing before exiting the highway, the report said.
Law ran a red light before he crashed into a wall on the Northwest 41st Street entrance ramp to the northbound lanes of the Turnpike, the report said.
He was taken into custody, hospitalized and booked into jail.
Records checks showed Law’s driver’s license had been suspended on April 27 and the tag on the Mustang wasn’t assigned to it, the report said.
