Dash camera video from a Florida Highway Patrol trooper captured the moment when a driver accused of going over 140 mph while fleeing on Florida’s Turnpike in Miami-Dade was arrested.

Jamal Kamari Law, 21, was arrested on charges including attempted fleeing and eluding an officer at high speed, driving with a suspended license and having a tag that wasn’t assigned to his vehicle, records showed.
According to FHP, the incident happened on July 9, just after 11 p.m., when the trooper spotted a black Ford Mustang going over 100 mph next to another vehicle in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike near Bird Road.
The trooper got behind the Mustang as the driver, Law, turned off the headlights and “began taking evasive action,” an arrest report said.
When the trooper tried to stop the Mustang, Law accelerated to over 140 mph while fleeing before exiting the highway, the report said.

In the dash camera video, the trooper sped down the Turnpike to reach Law.
Law ran a red light before he crashed into a wall on the Northwest 41st Street entrance ramp to the northbound lanes of the Turnpike, the report said.
His car was seen damaged as the trooper got out of his cruiser and ordered Law to get out of the car.
The trooper was seen pointing what appeared to be his gun at Law, and he got on the ground and was placed in handcuffs.
Law was then placed in the back of the cruiser.
He was taken into custody, hospitalized and booked into jail.
Records checks showed Law’s driver’s license had been suspended on April 27, and the tag on the Mustang wasn’t assigned to it, the report said.
