A man is behind bars after he fled the area following a car crash in Margate on Wednesday, police said.

According to Margate Police, the crash happened on West Atlantic Boulevard.
Police said that the suspect had an active warrant related to narcotics.
His identity was not released.
Business owners in the area told NBC6 that they heard the crash as the car appeared to smash into a cement post.

They said that when they ran outside to see what had happened, the driver had already bailed out of the car and had run away.

A silver Sedan was seen being towed away from the scene.
No injuries were reported.
