Traffic camera video from December 2024 shows someone dressed in white crossing the on-ramp on I-95 at Ives Dairy Road before a vehicle took off.

It was around the same time that authorities said 22-year-old Nahomi Valentina Cittadini was beaten before she was dragged into traffic and struck by a vehicle.

Police later arrested Lorent Pion on a second-degree murder charge in the killing.

Authorities tracked Pion down and he led them in a pursuit that ended when he crashed into multiple vehicles near Red Road and Miramar Parkway, records showed.

He tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody, authorities said.

Cittadini’s family said Pion was the victim’s friend and that he was abusive, saying one violent attack was caught on camera.

The video, from August 2024, showed Cittadini being violently beaten and thrown to the ground by Pion in Miami Beach, police and family members said.

Police responded after receiving several calls but Cittadini told officers nothing happened, police body camera video showed.

Pion, who has pleaded not guilty, sent a letter to a judge last year asking for his charges to be dropped.

“I am innocent, I didn’t kill my girl,” he wrote. “It was a car accident and the car that hit her ran away and nobody is looking for!!!”
