The redesigned cards will be available at all service centers statewide beginning on Wednesday, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles said.
Among the charges are an orange in place of the “O” in Florida, a manatee in the bottom left corner and a gator incorporated into the READ ID star in the top right corner.
The new background image on the card’s front features the Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fortress in the continental United States located in St. Augustine.

On the back is an image of the Discovery Space Shuttle, which launched 39 missions and spent 365 days in space before making its final landing in Florida in 2011.
The back also features the “Let Us Alone” motto from Florida’s first unofficial flag.
Florida residents aren’t required to replace their existing card but previous versions will be phased out over time.
