Flooding was once again a problem in several South Florida neighborhoods Tuesday because of king tides and recent heavy rain.

“This is the worst I’ve seen it,” one driver told NBC6.
NBC6 spoke with Theresa Zurfluh at an apartment complex in Miami Beach while she was doing laundry out back. The only way to get to the machines was through the water.
“I have to use the washer when they’re available,” Zurfluh said.
A couple of hours later, all of that water Zurfluh was standing in had receded, but there’s always concern that the next high tide will bring all of that water back.

“Oh yeah, it’s scary because you don’t know if the water is going to go up and up and up,” Marchena said. “I have to move in the middle of the rain, the water was to my knees, I have to walk in the water and move my car three blocks away.”
Meanwhile, several people living at the Sunshine Bay condo in Miami Beach say they haven’t had power since Sunday. One tenant sent NBC6 an email she got from the building management that says Florida Power and Light determined flooding caused a protective structure around an electrical line to crack and while crews fixed the problem, they found another issue and an electrician will return to the building Wednesday morning to assess.
A day after NBC6 also reported on flooding inside the building, water still sat in the garage Tuesday night.

Zurfluh, like many of her neighbors, is simply making the best of it.
“I got to do what I got to do,” Zurfluh said.
