Jabar Joe Ryland, 26, is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder, carrying a concealed firearm and grand theft, Miami-Dade jail records showed.
According to an arrest report, the incident happened around 4 a.m. on Sept. 18 when Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputies responded to a ShotSpotter alert regarding six gunshots fired in the 24700 block of Southwest 129th Avenue in Homestead.
Deputies found several spent bullet casings in the roadway and met with the victim, who said he was working for a rideshare company and accepted a ride request to pick up the suspect, Ryland, the report said.
The victim said after Ryland got in the car, he requested to be taken to a different location than the one listed in the app, and there was a brief verbal disagreement but the victim agreed to take him to the location to avoid further conflict.

When they arrived at the location, Ryland got out and told the victim to wait for him while he went inside, and the victim agreed but when Ryland got to the front door, he fled.
As the victim was driving away, he said he heard several gunshots and the sounds of bullets flying past and looked in his mirrors and saw Ryland running after his car, the report said.
Ryland was found by authorities on Thursday and taken into custody.
He had one gun in his waistband and another under his arm, and a records check showed one of the firearms had been reported stolen last year, the report said.
Ryland was booked into jail and on Friday appeared before judge, who ordered him held without bond.
