A Home Depot employee in North Miami was arrested on Tuesday after being accused of committing fraudulent refund transactions, authorities said.

Marvin Colin, 28, was charged with organized fraud and grand theft.
According to authorities, on Tuesday, officers arrived at the Home Depot at 12055 Biscayne Boulevard, where they were giving an investigative packet regarding the fraudulent refund transactions that showed records, surveillance photographs, dates, times, and register information.
An arrest report said the packet also had supporting documents for 13 instances of those fraudulent transactions. Colin’s employee ID number was documented in the transaction records, and he was the one who processed each refund transaction.
Surveillance photographs, the report said, showed individuals getting the fraudulent refunds.

The total loss for the fraudulent transactions was $5,133.52, the report said.
During the investigation, it was determined that Colin picked older customer orders, where attempts to contact those customers were unsuccessful, and then, using Home Depot’s order  management system, Collin was able to access those customer orders and process the unauthorized refund even though no merchandise was returned, the report said.
The dates when the 13 transactions happened were June 6, June 27, July 8, July 11, and July 16.
On four occasions, the report said, Colin altered the original payment type and directed the refund fund to a debit card not associated with the original purchase.

Collin was then arrested.
