Fire rescue crews, police cars, and two medical examiner vans lined the street for hours Sunday morning after this violent overnight crash in Miami.

Police said the crash happened around 2:46 a.m. near 301 SW 10th Ave, in the Little Havana neighborhood.
“Upon officers’ arrival, it appeared that an SUV may have been traveling at a high rate of speed moments before the crash,” police said, adding that the investigation remains ongoing.
Paulette, a witness, said that when she walked outside, the aftermath was devastating.
Several cars were badly damaged, and neighbors gathered near the wreckage trying to help anyone trapped inside.
“It just sounded like you hear screeching tires and a loud bang and then a couple of minutes later the police come here to the door banging,” Paulette said.
Authorities also confirmed that the driver of a second vehicle died as a result of the crash.

Cell phone video shared with NBC6 shows people crowding around one of the wrecked cars moments after the crash happened.
One witness, 21-year-old nursing student Layla Montgomery, says she tried checking for signs of life before first responders arrived.
“We saw like four cars beat up, and we didn’t know at first if there was somebody in the car. We tried to see if he had a pulse, and unfortunately, he did not,” Montgomery shared.
The scene stretched on for hours as investigators documented the damage and tow trucks worked to remove the wrecked vehicles from the roadway.
“It was pretty scary because it was loud, and then just to see how it ended,” Paulette added.
