A suspect accused of fatally shooting a man in Deerfield Beach on Sunday was arrested, deputies said.

Mauro Lopez, 27, was charged with second-degree with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, at around 7:12 p.m., deputies received a call reporting a shooting near the 5100 block of East Lakes Drive.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, and he was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The man was identified as 25-year-old Ryan McGowan.
BSO said Lopez remained at the scene and was detained.
During their investigation, detectives learned that there had been an argument earlier in the day between Lopez and McGowan.
Some time after the argument, Lopez encountered McGowan outside the home on East Lakes Drive and shot him several times.
