Rains are moving into the region on Monday, the most likely time for active weather this week, but it’s not stopping the heat.

The morning saw scattered storms and rain-cooled temperatures in the upper-70s in some spots. But the region will still warm into the low-90s. In fact, a heat advisory is in effect for Miami-Dade and Broward for heat index values up to 110 degrees—though the rain will help break up the duration. Expect several rounds of rain off and on throughout the day.

Saharan dust starts to move in by the end of the day on Tuesday. This is going to limit the rain, but not take it completely out of the forecast. It is going to heat us up and trap in the humidity, so hot, hazy, and soupy conditions are expected by midweek.

Highs reach into the mid-90s and feel-like conditions will be in the low-triple digits. It’s possible that heat alerts are issued without any rain to break up the heat. The dust settles in through the end of the week, so steamy conditions will last for several days.
