Reshawd James Pond Jr., 24, of Opa-locka, is facing charges including attempted fleeing and eluding at a high speed and resisting an officer without violence, records showed.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said they received a call from the victim at around 2:40 p.m. Monday who said her ex-boyfriend, Pond, had threatened to kill her and was chasing her while armed with weapons.

The victim drove to FHP’s Snapper Creek Turnpike station and Pond fled after seeing troopers, authorities said.

Troopers began a pursuit of Pond, who was in a Cadillac Escalade and was fleeing at speeds of over 120 mph in a 60 mph zone on the Florida’s Turnpike, an arrest report said.

Pond eventually got off at Southwest 8th Street and crashed a short time later in the area of Southwest 127th Avenue, officials said.

He fled on foot as authorities set up a perimeter, and after about an hour he was found hiding inside a maintenance shed on the property of nearby Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, the report said.
