Kleoniki Spyridou, 34, was arrested on Thursday after she allegedly refunded more than $10,000 to a gift card linked to her between October 2025 and February 2026.

An arrest report states that Spyriduo was seen on surveillance video going into the store at 101 Northeast 40th Street in Miami and “selecting merchandise until she discovers a point-of-sale system (POS), a portable handheld device used by the store for transactions.”

Authorities say she used the clothes to hide the device and take it into the fitting room with her, where she allegedly processed returns back to her gift card for purchases she made online via Shopify.

“The defendant never walked in with any merchandise showing her physically returning any items,” the arrest report states.

Spyriduo was using the PIN of an employee in New York City to process the refunds, authorities said. After the fraud, she would allegedly make a legitimate purchase or return before leaving the store.

Spyriduo did this at least four more times, and stole a total of $10,963.48, police said.

Alo initiated the investigation after an alert system flagged around 81 instances of suspicious activity “associated with a virtual gift card, indicating potential fraudulent conduct.”

Spyriduo is charged with organized scheme to defraud and 3rd degree grand theft. She was arrested in Miami Beach, and refused to speak with detectives before she was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to the arrest report.
