Who is David Jolly?

Jolly is a former member of Congress from 2014 to 2017, an attorney, and a television analyst who was formerly a Republican, an Independent, and is now a Democrat.

A vocal critic of President Donald Trump, Jolly announced in June that he would run for Florida governor as a Democrat.

Jolly, early in his campaign, also picked former Congresswoman Gwen Graham to be his lieutenant governor.

Graham served as the U.S. representative for Florida’s 2nd congressional district from 2015 to 2017 and is the daughter of Bob Graham, the former United States senator and governor of Florida.

She also ran for Florida governor in 2018.

Jolly said he wanted more than a traditional lieutenant governor candidate.

“I wanted to find a governing partner capable of being governor of the state, not just lieutenant governor,” Jolly said.

Graham said she joined the ticket because she believes Florida is headed in the wrong direction and wants to help reverse that trend.

“David Jolly is running for Governor of Florida on three simple values: the economy should work for everyone; strengthening our state requires solutions for housing and insurance, healthcare, and education, and everyone’s rights should be protected, and their dignity celebrated,” their campaign website reads.
