A teenager was rushed to the hospital after they were struck by a car while riding a scooter in Oakland Park Wednesday morning, officials said.

The incident happened in the area of Northwest 5th Avenue and W. Prospect Road.
Footage from the scene showed a Toyota sedan with a smashed windshield and the scooter lying on the ground nearby.

Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said the teen was taken to a local hospital as a level-one trauma.
