The shots were fired in the 600 block of Northwest 4th Court, police said.

The victim and a witness drove away from that location before they stopped nearby on the 1000 block of Pembroke Road to call 911 at around 10:39 p.m., authorities said.

There, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the vehicle, and immediately rendered aid until the Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue arrived.

“Despite those efforts, the victim later succumbed to his injuries,” police said. His name was not immediately provided.
