The 36-year-old suspect, known only by the name Kamruzzaman, was arrested Thursday on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious conduct, Broward jail records showed.
According to an arrest report, the alleged incident happened back on Feb. 27 outside the Islamic Center of South Florida in Pompano Beach.
The report said a security guard saw a group of girls waling on the sidewalk next to the building and saw a man make contact with them.
The guard said it appeared “odd” and at one point, saw the man picked up one of the girls.
The man refused to give the guard his identity then got in a Nissan Sentra and left, but the guard was able to get a photo of the license plate, the report said.
Investigators obtained surveillance footage showed the man lifting the girl up twice before getting behind her and pressing himself against her backside.
The footage also showed him pick up a second girl and touch her breast area with his hands, the report said.

The girl said the suspect, who she didn’t know, claimed he picked her up to guess her weight and “made her feel uncomfortable the way he touched her,” the report said.
At least one witness said the man had been there for around three days leading up to the incident while attending for Ramadan, the report said.
Using the license plate, investigators found the car came back to Kamruzzaman, a registered sex offender, the report said.
Records showed Kamruzzaman had been arrested in August 2017 for rubbing himself against an off-duty female police officer on a New York subway before he exposed himself, and had also been arrested in 2014 for rubbing himself against a 15-year-old girl on a train, the report said.
In January 2021 he was arrested for masturbating in front of a woman on a subway train, the report said.
Kamruzzaman appeared before a Broward judge where a prosecutor asked that he be held without bond.
“We don’t even know his first name,” the prosecutor said.
The judge ordered him held without bond but noted that he also has an immigration hold.
