A police pursuit that began with a reported stolen vehicle investigation in Hallandale Beach ended with a large law enforcement response at a home in Fort Lauderdale Thursday evening, where several people, including young children, were seen leaving the residence with their hands raised.

Two officers suffered minor injuries during the incident and are expected to be OK.

Authorities have not yet officially connected all of the events that unfolded from Hallandale Beach to Fort Lauderdale, and several details remain under investigation.

According to Hallandale Beach Police, officers were investigating a reported stolen vehicle when the driver fled, leading officers on a chase into Hollywood.

During the pursuit, two police cruisers collided. The crash sent two officers to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators said the suspect continued north on Interstate 95 toward the Fort Lauderdale area.

Chopper 6 captured the scene near Sunrise Boulevard, east of I-95, where officers from multiple agencies surrounded a home with their guns drawn while taking cover behind a black pickup truck.

A short time later, several people, including young children, were seen coming out of the home with their hands up. At least four people were detained, but police have not said whether any of them were arrested.

Video from the scene also showed several armed officers entering the home, while a black BMW was towed away.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded, including Hallandale Beach Police.

As of late Thursday night, police had not said whether the driver of the stolen vehicle had been taken into custody. Authorities have indicated the incident came to an end in Fort Lauderdale following the bailout, but the investigation remains ongoing.
