Volusia County approved a domestic violence offender database on Wednesday, according to our NBC affiliate WESH in Orlando.

The database will allow people to see information about convicted abusers in order to spread awareness and prevention.
Our affiliated reported that the registry will list people convicted of one or more domestic violence offenses and include convictions from up to 10 years ago. The registry will not contain victim information.
The information will be available to the public online on the county’s website, WESH wrote.

The database was approved with six votes in favor and one against, according to our sister station Telemundo 31 in Orlando. The website will include entries with photographs of offenders along with the case information.
Telemundo 31 reported that Volusia is the county with the fourth-most registered cases of domestic violence in Florida.
