The crash happened back on May 10 along Connector Road west of Interstate 95 and led to the arrest of 34-year-old Iris Ruiz.

Florida Highway Patrol footage obtained by NBC6 on Tuesday shows troopers arriving and finding a 12-year-old boy holding his 2-year-old sister after the crash.

An arrest report said the boy had flagged down a trooper after the crash as a man tried to help Ruiz out of her car, which caught fire.

The report said a trooper could smell alcohol on Ruiz’s breath and said she had bloodshot, watery eyes.

The footage shows Ruiz trying to perform a field sobriety test but a trooper said she couldn’t maintain her balance.

At one point, Ruiz is asked how she ended up crashing.

“I was trying to drive, I was trying to go home,” she said.

Later in the footage, she’s seen sitting in the back of a trooper’s vehicle speaking with her son.

“How this s— got worse?” she asks.

“Cause mommy, you were drunk, you crashed,” the boy responds.

The report said Ruiz later provided a breath sample that showed her blood alcohol level was .216, over twice the legal limit of .08.

Ruiz was booked into jail on two counts of child neglect with no great bodily harm, DUI, and two counts of DUI with damage to property or person.
