Rebecca Bouie, 37, and her son, 19-year-old Jamaury Benoit, were arrested Wednesday.

Bouie faces charges of child abuse with no great bodily harm and child neglect with no great bodily harm while Benoit is charged with aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm and violation of injunction for domestic violence, records showed.

Police began investigating on Monday after the girl said she’d been physically disciplined by her mother and brother who hit her with a belt on her arms, legs and abdomen, an arrest report said.

The girl had multiple healed patterned markings on her arms, legs and abdomen consistent with having been struck with a belt, the report said.

She also told investigators Benoit bound her wrists and ankles together with shoelaces, and said she was left restrained for at least an hour before being released, the report said.

Benoit had been arrested in January for child abuse on the sister and had been ordered to have no contact with her, but Bouie had allowed him to return to the home, the report said.

After their arrests, the Department of Children and Families implemented emergency removal of the victim and the other siblings, the report said.

Both were booked into jail and on Thursday appeared before a judge, who ordered Benoit held without bond.

Bouie was ordered to stay away from child and given pre-trial services with an alternate bond of $5,000.
