Tanisha Shelton, 45, was charged with attempted murder and arson with great bodily harm.
During her court appearance, a judge denied Shelton’s bond.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived in the area of Northwest 63rd Street and 25th Avenue after receiving reports of a person who was set on fire.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found an unconscious man who was burned.
The man, identified as 33-year-old Nathaniel Devon Mathis, was then taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with at least 80% of his body burned.

Mathis remains in critical condition.
During their investigation, a witness gave deputies a description of a suspect, and they were able to find a woman who matched the description.
Shelton was then found and arrested.
An arrest report said that Shelton and Mathis were involved in a verbal altercation earlier in the day, where she told him she was going to leave and get someone to hurt him.
Shelton left and then came back a few hours later carrying a white plastic bucket that had an unknown accelerant inside a plastic bag, the report said.
She asked the witness who was at the scene if she could borrow a lighter, and then Shelton went up to Mathis, began the verbal altercation again, doused him with the accelerant and used the lighter to set him on fire, the report said.
