T’vano Angelo Ashford Rolle, 22, is facing a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence in the May 14 shooting, an arrest report said.
The shooting happened early Thursday at the Coral Park East apartment complex along the 2500 block of Riverside Drive, near Royal Palm Boulevard and south of West Sample Road.
The victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.
Coral Springs Police on Monday identified the victim as 18-year-old Khameran Jackson, of Dania Beach.
Video from the scene showed the body covered in the parking lot and a gun in a nearby swimming pool.
According to the report, witnesses reported seeing a man carrying a backpack in or near the pool area immediately after the shooting who was gathering items from the area before entering the apartment building at 2501 Riverside Drive.
Officers recovered multiple shell casings from the pool deck and found a rifle submerged in the apartment complex pool, the report said.
Surveillance footage showed the same man in the building riding the elevator to the fourth floor, and detectives identified the man from the video as Rolle, who lives on the fourth floor, the report said.

Surveillance video showed Rolle walking through a hallway to an overlook area after officers responded before he quickly returned to his apartment, the report said.
“Based on my training and experience, the defendant’s actions demonstrated that he was aware law enforcement was actively conducting a criminal investigation related to the shooting,” an officer wrote in the report. “Despite this knowledge, the defendant continued to conceal the firearm used during the shooting inside his residence.”
Police took Rolle into custody and he initially denied any knowledge of the shooting, said he didn’t hear gunshots and wasn’t in the pool area, and said he had been smoking, the report said.
After continued questioning Rolle admitted he’d known Jackson for about two years and said Jackson had contacted him the day before the shooting and requested to spend time together.
Rolle said he, Jackson, and an unidentified person went to a music studio before returning to Rolle’s apartment and said while they were in the pool area, Jackson and the unidentified male asked to take photos while wearing Rolle’s gold Cuban-link chain, the report said.
After taking photos, Jackson and the unidentified male attempted to leave with the chain and pointed guns at Rolle, at which time Rolle “produced his own firearm and an exchange of gunfire ensued between the parties,” the report said.
Rolle said after the shooting he fled to his apartment and concealed his firearm inside a backpack in a closet, the report said.
Coral Springs Police confirmed Rolle was charged with tampering with evidence but didn’t say whether he’ll face additional charges.
