A day after a possible boat explosion at Haulover Beach sent 11 people to the hospital, the daughter of a woman who was on board the boat described what her mother experienced.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, over 25 units on Saturday, alongside Ocean Rescue, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the U.S. Coast Guard, responded to reports of a possible boat explosion near the Haulover Sandbar.

The woman told NBC6 on Sunday that her mother remembered smelling a strong gas odor about 10 minutes before the explosion.

She said her mother believed a possible gas leak might have caused the blast, which caused her to suffer burns to her arms.

Investigators have not confirmed the official cause.

NBC6 learned that the boat involved in the incident is a Sea Ray Express Cruiser, and, according to the manufacturer, it can legally hold 10-12 people.

The group said there were 14 people on board.

The cause of the blast remains under investigation.
