A small stray dog gave the crew at Naples Airport a run for their money, more than earning his nickname—and his happy ending.

The loose canon was found sprinting across the tarmac in the second week of September, and a video of the hilarious chase went viral.

“We had a visitor at the airport this week— and let us tell you… this little stray gave us a serious run for our money,” the airport said on its Facebook page. “There was chasing. There was strategizing. There was a whole lot of ‘Where did he GO?!'”

The pup was (eventually) safely caught, and Collier County Domestic Animal Services was working to track down his owner.

“Since he didn’t have a microchip, he had to complete his mandatory 2-day stray wait while we hoped his family would come looking for him,” animal services said. “They didn’t… But someone else did.”

That’s right, the runway—er, runaway—caught on camera jetting away from the law has now been adopted by a loving family.

“His new family quickly fell in love with those sweet eyes and even sweeter personality,” animal services said. “And today, Jet is getting his freedom ride to start his next chapter!”

That’s right, his new name pays homage both to his speed and the backdrop of his zooming.

Jet’s new owner said she was scrolling on Facebook when she happened to see the video, but had no idea she would be taking him home later.

“That’s the same dog?! We just saw this video this morning!” she said when she was told about Jet’s five-minutes-of-fame on the tarmac. “We’re gonna give him such a good home and spoil him rotten. He’s going to love every second of it.”
