A man was hospitalized and a person was detained after a shooting near a gas station in Pompano Beach on Tuesday, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the shooting around 3 p.m. in the area of East Atlantic Boulevard and Northeast 1st Avenue, Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said.
When they arrived the deputies found a man who’d been shot. Paramedics took him to a local hospital for treatment.

One person was detained at the scene.
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed yellow crime scene tape closing off an Orion gas station, with multiple deputies and detectives investigating.
Officials haven’t released the identities of anyone involved or said what may have led to the shooting.
