Victoria Roman, 42, a graphic designer, voluntarily turned herself in, according to her defense attorney, and is now facing multiple felony charges of promoting altered sexual images of an alleged victim without their consent.
Investigators have not released details about what the images showed, but search warrant documents reveal authorities were looking for information from Roman’s Instagram account between Nov. 1 and Nov. 19.
Besides the current charges, prosecutors say Roman has a lengthy criminal history, including prison time for aggravated assault with a firearm.
Roman is also married to broward police officer.
The exact relationship between Roman and the alleged victim remains unclear, but since she voluntarily turned herself in, her attorney asked the judge to show leniency.

“Since the alleged offense is an online offense, she has not made any contact with the alleged victim online, nor posted or written anything online about the alleged victim,” her attorney said.
Her attorney also stressed that Roman needs internet access to continue working as a graphic designer.
But the judge did not bite, ordering Roman no possession or use of internet devices on top of GPS monitoring, no victim contact, and no weapons, firearms or ammunition.
Roman posted bond on Friday. Her attorney said they intend to defend the charges but had no additional comment.
