What is the Hyundai Air & Sea Show and who’s headlining?

It’s all in the name. Live action water sports demonstrations kick off each day of the event, followed by awe-inspiring displays of air power, all to pay tribute to those who have served the United States military.

This year’s show is headlined by the United States Airforce (USAF) Thunderbirds, the Air Force’s official air demonstration team flying F-16 Fighting Falcons.

When and where is the Hyundai Air & Sea Show?

Marvel at the air and sea events from the sand or street from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24. Organizers say the best viewing areas are 1st – 10th streets and 13th – 20th streets.

Rideshare tips: The city encourages attendees to avoid closures on Ocean Drive and end their rides on Washington Avenue and walk the two blocks to the park.

Public transportation: “Take the Metrobus from Downtown Miami near Bayfront Park to Washington Avenue and 11th Street. The ride takes about 30 minutes. Once in Miami Beach, the Miami Beach Trolley is a free, convenient and, most importantly, air-conditioned way to get around the island,” officials state on the city’s website.

Parking garages: Parking can be found in the garages at 13th Street and Collins Avenue and a few blocks from the park at 12th Street and Drexel Avenue. The largest garage is on 17th Street and Meridian Avenue, near Lincoln Road.

Organizers want you to remember to stay hydrated and prepare for some serious sun. Make sure you’re stocked up on sunscreen and water.

Also, “be mindful of potential loud noise from the jets and boats, especially if you’re attending with little ones. If you or someone in your party is sensitive to sound, consider using ear protection and adjust any auditory devices.”
