Police are investigating after the body of a missing 76-year-old man was found in a lake in Plantation, officials said Thursday.

Officers had responded to the area of the 7800 block of Northwest 11th Court after the man was reported missing and began a search, Plantation Police officials said.

During the search, one of the man’s shoes was found in a nearby lake.
Plantation Fire Department Dive Team members and a Broward Sheriff’s Office bloodhound K-9 helped search the area and the man’s body was found in the lake, police said.

His identity hasn’t been released.
Detectives are investigating the incident.
