A man was arrested after a runner said he and his dog were attacked by two pit bulls in Wynwood, a bloody incident partially captured on video.

For Evan Motlong, it was a regular evening run with his dog Indie when two pit bulls suddenly charged at him as he tried to protect his dog.

“We went by, he was going this, we were going this way,” Motlong said. “I just remember it happened just like that, like the two dogs just rushed after her.”

The first image of Otero Alcántara, after his release from prison, was posted on his official page, already on board the plane that brought him to Miami.

Motlong said he jumped in to save his dog, who suffered injuries to her leg and side, picture show.

“I ripped one [dog] off, and I got in the middle, and got the other off, I got my arm badly bit,” he said.

Motlong told NBC6 that the owner then ordered the dogs to attack him.

According to witnesses who spoke with Motlong, the dog owner gave him a black eye.

“So he told me that this guy shoved me, and punched me while I was on the ground,” he said.

Video shows Motlong bleeding on the floor, with his leg splayed out at an odd angle.

Motlong said detectives told him they intended to arrest the man with the dogs, and on Sunday, Miami police confirmed that they arrested 44-year-old Jonte Adrian Jack.

He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony battery, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer and criminal mischief.

“The comments I’ve read on my story have said they’ve seen this guy doing this to other people,” Motlong said

Motlong is now hoping his story helps prevent this from happening to someone else

“People shouldn’t have to look over their shoulder wondering if their, a family member basically, a dog is a family member, is going to get attacked or potentially killed,” he said.
