A system in the Gulf was upgraded to Tropical Depression Two on Sunday, the National Hurricane Center said.

According to the NHC, the depression is expected to gradually strengthen, and a tropical storm watch was issued for the Florida Panhandle, where there could be tropical storm conditions.
This is going to increase with wind and bring elevated rain chances to the I-10 corridor from the panhandle of Florida to Louisiana.
Regardless of strength, the rain will impact those areas through at least midweek.

Some models keep the low longer and have it meander, another model has it fall apart, but the available moisture remains high.
So, the rain impacts are elevated for the areas to our north. For us in South Florida, we’ll have to watch a few stray showers here or there, but as mentioned, drier air starts to work in, and our rain chances decrease over the next few days.
