Police are searching for a possible suspect in a Fourth of July shooting in Fort Lauderdale that left a man hospitalized.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on July 4 in the area of Seabreeze and Las Olas Boulevards, Fort Lauderdale Police said.
Police said the victim was standing on the sidewalk when he was shot in the thigh.
The victim didn’t know where the bullet came from and it didn’t appear he was the intended target, police said.

He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police on Friday released surveillance images of the possible suspect in the shooting.
