The former director of the Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the organization, authorities said.

Jason Nunez, 43, was arrested Monday on a grand theft charge, Broward jail records showed.

Wilton Manors Police said while Nunez was director of the organization he used his business credit card to spend money on himself.

The investigation found Nunez spent upwards of $11,000 on Uber rides, gas and haircuts, along with cash withdrawals, police said.

Detectives said the theft started in October 2025 and went until January of this year, when Nunez resigned from the position.

A police report said Nunez was using the chamber credit card daily, sometimes multiple times a day during the month of December.

According to the Miami-Dade LGBTQ+ Allied Chamber of Commerce website, Nunez is employed with the organization as the director of programs and communications.

NBC6 reached out to both chambers for comment on Nunez’s arrest and were told no comment for now.

Nunez bonded out of jail on Tuesday, records showed.
