A man accused in a DUI crash that killed two passengers in his car in Dania Beach was arrested on Sunday, authorities said.

Vladimir Mushenko, 38, is facing several charges, including DUI manslaughter and vehicle homicide, arrest records showed.

According to authorities, on July 4, there was a vehicle that crashed into another vehicle in the 200 block of East Dania Beach Boulevard.

An arrest report said one of the vehicles was driven by Mushenko, who was heading eastbound on East Dania Beach Boulevard while driving at a high-rate of speed.

As he was driving, Mushenko’s vehicle struck a curb, causing him to overcorrect, and the vehicle lost control, slid over a median and struck the other vehicle head-on, the report said.

When deputies arrived at the crash site, they met with Mushenko, and he showed signs of impairment, the report said. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

At the hospital, Mushenko’s blood alcohol level tested at .197, which is more than twice the legal limit, the report said.

One of the passengers who was in Mushenko’s vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were taken to the hospital, and one of them succumbed to their injuries, the report said.

Five people who were in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

When a deputy questioned the surviving passenger in Mushenko’s car, they were able to identify that it was he who was driving, the report said.

Mushenko was then taken into custody.
