An investigation is underway in a neighborhood in Miami Gardens on Sunday for a possible hit-and-run crash.

Miami Gardens Police officers were seen gathering evidence along Northwest 191st Street.

In the neighborhood, shoes were left behind on the roadway and crime scene tape blocked off part of it as officers worked to piece together what happened.

Neighbors told NBC6 that they found a man lying in the roadway and believe he was involved in a hit-and-run crash.

One woman said in Spanish that they started topping cars so they wouldn’t hit the man, and then immediately called 911.

It’s unclear what led up to the incident.

Miami Gardens Police have released details of what happened.
