A former employee of Silverspot Cinema in Miami was arrested in the alleged theft of more than $20,000 from the theater, police said.

Aubrey Hackett Hunter, 41, was arrested Monday on a second-degree grand theft charge, an arrest report said.
According to the report, on Jan. 19, a supervisor at the theater at 300 Southeast 3rd Street reported to police that $21,921.23 worth of cash deposits were never deposited to the company bank account.
The supervisor said a records check showed a former employee, Hunter, had left the business on Dec. 22, 2025 carrying over $10,800 worth of cash deposits he was supposed to deposit at the bank, but he only deposited about $2,700 and failed to deposit the remaining $8,000, the report said.

On Dec. 30, Hunter was supposed to deposit over $13,850 but never did, the report said.
Hunter later resigned from his position, the supervisor said.
Investigators reviews company logs that confirmed the $21,921.23 in deposits was missing, the report said.
Hunter was arrested and booked into jail. He was expected to appear in bond court on Tuesday.
