Jeyner Francisco Monzon, 22, is accused in nine package thefts dating back to March.

The Miami Police Department first caught onto Monzon in April, when a resident reported that several Amazon packages containing dog supplies and jewelry cleaning products valued at more than $100 had been stolen from his front porch on Northwest 53rd Street and Northwest 15th Avenue in Liberty City.

Ring video showed Monzon pulling up on a bicycle, putting the packages into his backpack and taking off, police said.

Authorities made a flyer to find Monzon, and he was arrested on May 28.

A second victim later reported that in May, she found an Amazon package opened in her front yard, and a juicer that cost $113.95 had been removed. Monzon was also identified as the suspect in surveillance video of that incident.

After the first two incidents, Miami police spokesperson Mike Vega said Monzon was arrested and provided “a full confession.”

“He admitted to more than what we had, and we still need those victims to come forward,” Vega said at the time.

As police revisited open cases, they were able to charge Monzon with seven additional thefts.

In those cases, he is accused of stealing speakers valued at $1,000, groceries, a vacuum, a leaf blower, a battery pump and more.

The arrest reports detail that the crimes were all caught on video from doorbell and surveillance cameras.

Monzon “admitted that he was taking these packages to support his drug habit, and he would then sell whatever was contained inside these packages,” Vega said.

He was charged with multiple counts of petty theft and burglaries of unoccupied dwellings.

Police encourage the public to report similar incidents.

“If you’re a victim and you think, oh, it’s minor, it’s under $5, or it’s under $10, it is important that you report it because that’s the only way that we’re going to know that there is a problem going on,” Vega said.
