A woman whose body washed ashore at Hollywood Beach this week may have been struck by a boat, authorities said.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said Friday that 31-year-old Kellie Melinda Williams had injuries consistent with a vessel strike.

The body of Williams, who lived in Hollywood, washed ashore Wednesday night at the beach near New Mexico Street.

Two fishermen saw the body in the surf and called authorities, FWC officials said.

Hollywood Police said it appeared she had been snorkeling or diving earlier Wednesday in the area of Dr. Von D Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the incident to call the FWC at 888-404-FWCC or Hollywood Police at 954-764-4357.
