Lindsay Ann Mariani, 37, of Hollywood, was arrested Thursday on charges including grand theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, Miami-Dade jail records showed.

According to an arrest report, Mariani had been working for a company based in Naperville, Illinois, since July of 2023 as an assistant to the chief of staff.

Mariani had been issued a credit card for work expenses but an internal audit by a legal representative of the company found that between July 2023 and November 2024, she misused the card for personal expenses, the report said.

The purchases included flights from American Airlines and United Airlines, as well as charges from Target, Uber and Carnival Cruise Line, with a total loss to the company of just over $88,300, the report said.

“At no time did anyone associated with the victim company provide the defendant with permission or authority to use the company credit card to make personal purchases,” the report said. “Documents from the retailers as well as from the credit card company confirm these transactions.”

On Thursday, Mariani surrendered to North Miami Beach Police and was booked into jail, the report said.
