Arvin Joseph Mirasol, 36, was booked into Broward’s main jail on Monday as he faces nine counts of digital voyeurism.

Mirasol, who pleaded not guilty to the charges in 2024, is due in Broward court on June 15 for a change of plea hearing, records showed.

Authorities said Mirasol had worked as a stateroom attendant aboard the Symphony of the Seas cruise ship owned by Royal Caribbean Group.

In February of 2024, a guest of the ship discovered a hidden camera under the sink in a stateroom bathroom.

Mirasol was detained and authorities searched his electronics and found “numerous videos of children in various stages of undress,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida said.

The children in the videos were between 2 and 17 years old.

One video showed Mirasol himself installing a camera in a guest’s bathroom, authorities said.

Authorities said Mirasol would also enter guests’ rooms while they were showering and hide under their beds so he could secretly record them exiting the shower.

Mirasol, a citizen of the Philippines, had been placing cameras in passenger cabins since December 2023, officials said.

In August of 2024, Mirasol was sentenced to 30 years in prison in the federal case, after pleading guilty to producing child pornography.
