A convicted felon accused of shooting a man in Pompano Beach on Saturday was arrested, deputies said.

Victor Steven Boyd Jr., 43, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at 598 NW 15th St. just before 1:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

At the scene, deputies found a man who had been shot, and he was taken to the hospital by fire rescue crews.
The victim’s name or condition was not released.
As deputies continued to investigate, they identified the suspect as Boyd Jr. and found his vehicle in Margate.

Boyd was then arrested during a traffic stop.
