The body of a man who police believe shot and killed his estranged wife and a man who may have been her new romantic interest outside a Vero Beach library back in March has been found, officials said.<\/p>\n

The remains of 64-year-old Jesse Scott Ellis were found Wednesday in a wooded area near the 2000 block of Cove Drive, Vero Beach Police Chief David Currey said at a news conference Thursday.<\/p>\n

Workers at a nearby home found the body and called police, Currey said.<\/p>\n

Dental records confirmed the body, which was in an advanced stage of decomposition, belonged to Ellis, Currey said.<\/p>\n

Currey said investigators believe Ellis died by suicide shortly after the March 24 shooting of Stacie Mason and Danny Ooley outside the Indian River County Main Library.<\/p>\n

Ellis was caught on camera approaching the victims in the parking lot and shooting them with a long gun, similar to an AR-15, Currey said.<\/p>\n

Ellis and Mason had been married for around 13 years but in the midst of possibly separating or divorcing and selling their home, and Mason may have been romantically involved with Ooley, Currey said.<\/p>\n

The victims were both Indian River Public Works employees, with Ooley the assistant director and Mason a traffic analyst technician, county officials said.<\/p>\n

First-degree murder warrants had been issued for Ellis, and while his exact cause of death is still being determined Currey said it appeared he hanged himself.<\/p>\n
