Video shows the moments police officers took down a man wanted in an alleged burglary in Miami Beach.<\/p>\n

According to an arrest report, Miami police officers responded at around 5:22 p.m. Tuesday to a Citgo gas station at Northwest 53rd Street and North Miami Avenue. <\/p>\n

A victim said a man with a ski mask rolled up on his head, identified later as 23-year-old Alexis Martinez, had entered the gas station and approached the cashier’s window to ask to use the bathroom.<\/p>\n

When he was told the bathroom did not work, Martinez “became angry… walked to the entrance of the cashiers office and attempted to force the door open,” an arrest report states. The victim told him he was going to call the police. <\/p>\n

Martinez then left, and when the victim tried to lock the main door, he allegedly tried to force his way back inside. <\/p>\n

A second victim then tried to help shut the door, and he suffered “a long abrasion to his left forearm” during a brief struggle with Martinez, police said. <\/p>\n

Martinez then got into the front passenger seat of a 2016 gray Honda Civic, and the vehicle took off with him and two other men in the car, the arrest report states. <\/p>\n

One of the victims said that when he tried to take a picture of Martinez, “he had pulled the ski mask completely over his face.”<\/p>\n

Miami police were able to track the vehicle to a Miami Beach intersection, where video shows officers closing in on the men. <\/p>\n

In the footage, the Honda Civic stops before one of the men gets out and starts jogging away from the vehicle. He appears to be barefoot. Moments later, three unmarked patrol vehicles descend on the Civic, blocking the suspects in from the front, rear and side. <\/p>\n

With guns drawn, officers direct Martinez and another man to get out of the car. One of the men can be heard saying, “I think it’s a misunderstanding. I have everything on video.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, surveillance video shows another unmarked vehicle stopping near the third man who had gotten out of the car and crossed the street. The officer tackles that suspect. <\/p>\n

Martinez was taken into custody and said he was at the gas station where he was “making a prank,” police said. He then requested a lawyer and police stopped the interview. <\/p>\n

Martinez was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and charged with burglary with assault or battery. <\/p>\n
