A father and his 11-year-old daughter spoke out for the first time Friday after they were shot while sitting in a\u00a0McDonald’s in Hallandale Beach. <\/p>\n

The 11-year-old said that it\u2019s a miracle she’s still alive. She still has bullet fragments in her head.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels like I have another chance, thank you for Jesus, thank you for everything I have,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The child and\u00a0her father, Oscar, were shot while sitting inside their SUV in a McDonald’s parking lot in Hallandale Beach on June 27. A bullet hit the dad in his hip, and the 11-year-old took a bullet to her head, but they survived.<\/p>\n

Days later, they’re expressing how thankful they are that they’re still alive. The dad got emotional standing next to his wife and daughter at Joe DiMaggio Children\u2019s Hospital Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for the people who helped me and thank you for everybody here,\u201d the 11-year-old said.<\/p>\n

Detectives said 18-year-old\u00a0Ralph N-Kosi Blue\u00a0was coming to work at McDonald’s and started shooting at someone who was running towards him. According to an arrest report, two days earlier, several people walked inside the business searching for Blue, who was hiding in the back.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the father and daughter, a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old, were waiting inside the SUV while their mother was inside the restaurant. Investigators said they were not the targets but caught in the crossfire.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo tell the truth, it was a very difficult moment,\u201d the children\u2019s mother said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 11-year-old girl is expected to be released from the hospital soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you, thank you for everything,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The family’s attorney said right now, his office is waiting for police to finish their investigation, and then they will discuss how they will move forward, which could include a possible civil lawsuit.<\/p>\n
