A family is still waiting for answers three months after a man was killed and his son was injured in a hit-and-run boat crash in Biscayne Bay.<\/p>\n

Davide Veglia died while his 14-year-old son survived the March 25 crash, and now his wife wants to see accountability for her devastating loss.<\/p>\n

Marta Fasoli said her husband and son were fishing in Biscayne Bay when authorities said a 40-foot boat crashed into their dinghy and took off.<\/p>\n

Her husband was killed while her son, Lorenzo, was left with broken bones.<\/p>\n

She said fishing brought the two together.<\/p>\n

“Not just a hobby, but it was a moment of connectivity they had,” Fasoli said.<\/p>\n

Now, she’s left mourning a husband, father and friend.<\/p>\n

“He was very caring with the people that were around him. Family, friends, the people at work,” she said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAuthorities continued their search for a boater involved in a Biscayne Bay hit-and-run that left a father dead and his son hospitalized as new video showed a “vessel of interest” in the crash. NBC6’s Lorena Inclan reports\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said the boat was found days later, but no one has been charged.<\/p>\n

“How can we believe that the operator didn\u2019t realize he hit the dinghy, and he killed my husband and left my son over there witnessing the death of his father. I don\u2019t believe it,” Fasoli said.<\/p>\n

Fasoli’s attorney said they’re aware who owns the boat and who was operating it that night.<\/p>\n

“What we\u2019ve seen in terms of surveillance footage and things like that, in the moments leading up to the incident, you can see the boat going at a speed that\u2019s greater than what\u2019s reasonable for the circumstances,” attorney Bruno Renda said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand why people are allowed to go so fast at night in that body of water, it doesn\u2019t make any sense,” Fasoli said.<\/p>\n

Fasoli hopes the story prompts change for greater boating safety as she waits for answers on what has been a frustrating and painful ordeal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a little bit in the dark, I really wish I could tell my son something is moving and we could have some kind of justice,” Fasoli said.<\/p>\n

The family said they have a meeting with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office on Monday to find out where things stand.<\/p>\n
