Walker Jenkins is known for his clutch hitting, but he can now add a big save to his stats.<\/p>\n

Jenkins is the top prospect for the Minnesota Twins, playing for their Triple-A affiliate, the St. Paul Saints. He\u00a0came to the aid of a boy who started to collapse\u00a0during the national anthem before the team\u2019s home game against the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday. Children stood on the field alongside Saints players as the song played.<\/p>\n

The team\u00a0posted a video on X, showing the boy, identified as Lincoln, swaying side to side between Jenkins and fellow outfielder Matt Wallner. When Lincoln started to stumble, Jenkins grabbed the child and carried him to the team\u2019s dugout, where he was handed to head athletic trainer Chase Thompson.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot all heroes wear capes. Some wear a #23 Saints jersey. We are happy to share Lincoln is doing well, and even got some new merch,\u201d the team wrote, while also posting a picture of him wearing a T-shirt with Jenkins\u2019 number on it.<\/p>\n

The fifth overall pick in the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft, Jenkins, whose nickname is \u201cCaptain America,\u201d ended up having a heroic day at the plate, as well. He went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double, one RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base to help the Saints win, 12-6.<\/p>\n

The boy\u2019s fainting spell comes as a good portion of the country\u00a0deals with a heat wave,\u00a0with forecasters saying multiple cities from Nashville to Detroit to Bangor, Maine, could experience record high temperatures during the holiday weekend.<\/p>\n

TODAY\u2019s Al Roker said 163 million people around the country are at risk due to the heat over the weekend, with heat index values up to 115 degrees around the nation.<\/p>\n

Experts recommend people stay hydrated, while Amtrak has said there\u00a0could be delays\u00a0due to the heat, and flights could be pushed back because of scorching temperatures. The power grid will also be put to the test as air conditioning units are used to keep cool.<\/p>\n
